Budget hotel chain Travelodge is creating 3,000 new jobs by opening 100 new hotels by 2023 – and is targeting parents who want to return to work by offering flexible hours and school hour roles.
It's a clever ploy. At the moment, staff from the EU make up nearly a quarter of jobs in the hospitality sector. If EU worker numbers fall, the staffing gap could create problems.
It’s an interesting way to use Brexit as an opportunity – and create jobs for an overlooked section of the workforce.
